I think the biggest point that didn't come across is why someone would want to play a game about Scottish people. Why would this be fun, maybe if someone was drunk?.  The objectives of the game is to get to the end of the of the road like "mario" so it is  kind of stealing an idea from someone else, so I guess the biggest thing is why would you choose this over "Mario"? I don't really know but it would be fun. It would be a good iphone app, I feel like people would actually play it.

You have a very nice stick figure of a hero.

I love your villain, I can't believe that you were able to make that through pencil. It was very well done. You can definitely tell that your character is a villain because of how dark the person is and the types of moves the character uses, also the dark shadows

I love your superhero, It has nice colors and I can tell that yours is a hero by the lightness of the character . THe mood of you character is really happy.

7 Written Reflection

In our group we focused the most on lines in our video. We had joke script 3. Every scene had to have some focus on lines. We used doors a lot to show lines and focus points. With the shape of our characters head we kept it the way his head was, bulky square like. We used space very dramatically ranging from the little room of the dorm to the character running across campus to class, With very long shots of him running. With rhythm and movement we use a lot of synced music with the tempo of him running and falling where rhythm was needed to give the movie a comedy feel.

The group that I really liked was the silent movie with the joke script 4
I loved this one a lot. I liked that there wasn't any color.

5A. Reimagining Visual Framing

This is Salvador Dali's "Metamorphosis of Narcissus." I knew I wanted to use one of his pictures because he is one of my favorite artists, He gives me a lot of inspiration with the music I write.

To compare these two images obviously that are both the same thing but one is a zoomed in part of the flower coming out of the egg. The part of the real picture I want to point out is the reflection of the hand on the water side. If you don't know the story of the mythical person Narcissus,  He was a very beautiful person and everyone wanted him. One day he walked up to a lake and saw his reflection and fell in love with it. He eventually died because he never moved. He was fixated on the reflection he was in love with. And Metamorphosis is a collection of books tell of ancient stories about mythical people.

For me the flower is a very import part of of the painting. It is the only thing that is growing/not dieing in the painting. I think it represents rebirth and finding new beauty and not focusing on your own, this painting is so famous because of all of the things it stands for. Every little part has a meaning. Mostly about life.

To Contrast, If I just looked at the zoomed in egg I would think of happiness and the happiness of new life but if you look at the whole painting that it is more than that. I mirrored part of the image shows death and what narcissism gives you. Either way you look at it, this painting is a beautiful way to show the problems with humanity and our self-absorbed way we only think about ourselves.

My Song

The two most important layers in my life are "the Lizard" and "Ship". I believe I have both of these problems that I must overcome to do what I want to do in life.
The Lizard strikes your mind telling you that you can't do it, you wont ever be good enough, they will laugh at you. NO ONES LAUGHING! It's all in my head. I need to keep my mind set on my future and remember how far I have came but also remember how far I need to go. Its going to take a long time but I can do it. Stay focused and don't fall into The Lizards game.
Ship, I am always frightened to show people my expressive art. I keep it all by myself and never let it be shown. Why? I don't know, maybe its The Lizard. But to get anywhere I need to ship. I need to be will to show everyone my art. I'm not afraid of laughter, it takes a lot to embarrass me but my art is my soul so I have to stand by it.

With this blog I have been making I can see how this makes these things go away. I can put all of my art on here for everyone to see. Slowly I'm becoming the shipper. The Lizards not telling me that people are going to make fun of me because as this is a class everyone has to do this. But wether or not I am putting my art on here, my words, my emotions, my viewpoints on life. Do I like it? Yes. I want to venture out and show everyone my work, I want the world to know the music of Joshua Powell. As a music composition major there is always so many people around me telling me my work isn't like everyone else's and they don't get. But those are professors, do they truly know the now when I ask my friends and they love it.

Demo and Written

The song I have chosen is "I will alway's love you" originally by Dolly Parton. The cover is done by Whitney Houston.

The biggest difference between the two are the style, Dolly's is more country, and Whitney's is more Pop. The lyrics and the melody are the same. The rhythm of whitney's is a lot more rubato, and her vocals are more intense and in your face compared to Dolly's. Whitney's is the most famous of the two, and hers was a lot more dramatic. Dolly's made you feel like you lost someone you loved and Whitney's was a tragedy and like she left someone. In Whitney's they use a Saxophone soloist which was very beautiful.

For me my favorite is Whitney's. It's beautiful and almost makes me cry by how perfect her vocals are.

Find your howl

In the story, Mumon couldn't find his howl. He had been in in captivation for so long that he didn't know how to find food and howl at the moon. But at the end of the story the wolf was getting shot and at that moment he remembered how to howl because he could see his past lives right in front of them.

My favorite song, I a bright eyes song, called "the first day of my life" this song is very dear to me because its about the first time I met my ex.

This is the first day of my life
I swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain suddenly everything changed
They're spreading blankets on the beach

Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
Now I don’t know where I am
I don’t know where I’ve been
But I know where I want to go

And so I thought I’d let you know
That these things take forever
I especially am slow
But I realize that I need you
And I wondered if I could come home

Remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange you said everything changed
You felt as if you'd just woke up
And you said “this is the first day of my life
I’m glad I didn’t die before I met you
But now I don’t care I could go anywhere with you
And I’d probably be happy”

So if you want to be with me
With these things there’s no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I’d rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery
Besides maybe this time is different
I mean I really think you like me

What influences me as a creative person?

As a music composition major, the romantic music era is by far the one I look to the most when I'm writing music (years 1825-1900). I like the romantic era because of the emotion and virtuosity of the music, the hardest music ever written was from this time period.

The first example I would like to use is my favorite composer ever, Frederic Chopin. This is one of his well known preludes from his book of 24 preludes, This is Prelude #4 in E minor.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef-4Bv5Ng0w
In this song Chopin uses lots of tension and release. In every chord he pulls you to the next by a musical term called suspension, which just means that a note from a chord is play before the actual chord is played making a listener anticipate the next chord. Then the release is the actual next chord.

The second example of romantic composers is Schumann's Symphony #4 in D Minor.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6QUvSovobI
At this time in history symphonies were at there largest.. Composers calling for more, and more instrumentalist. The reason why I like this song so much is this is the epitome of romantic music, loud, the style changes dramatically, and its purely dramatic.

The third example I would like to give is the romantic "god", Brahms. This is his Violin Concerto, just the first movement.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlIEbBcXT_U
The reason why I want to point out that this is just the first movement of the piece is because how long the movement is. Brahms movements where longer than most composers whole Symphony's. If you don't know symphonies/concertos have around five movements. This movement is almost 25 minutes long.

Other things that composer of this era liked to use was Text/Subtext, obviously there are no words but composers would write music that had to do with things of there time, like politics or news. Composers would make fun of certain people with there music. For example I know a composer that wrote a song that was called "Fuck Bush", Which the song was to sound silly and to make fun of him.
